This 230PN flex pin is a wear-part hardware component used to secure a bucket tooth to its adapter shank on backhoe, skid steer loader, mini excavator, and excavator buckets. The pin is composed of two steel forgings with a neoprene rubber insert between them; as the pin is driven through the tooth and shank, the rubber compresses to hold the tooth firmly on the adapter, reducing tooth chatter and preventing pin loss during operation. The flex pin design allows the pin to spring back into shape after insertion for a tight, secure four-way locking fit. Flex pins are consumable wear items and require periodic replacement to keep buckets performing at full efficiency.
