This crankshaft oil seal fits the magneto side of the crankshaft on Fits Briggs & Fits Stratton (Fits Briggs and Stratton) 2 through 5 HP engines. It seals the space between the crankshaft and crankcase to prevent oil leaks and keep contaminants out of the engine -- a critical replacement during any engine rebuild or when oil seepage is detected at the magneto end.
