One New Aftermarket Replacement Ballast Resistor (12 Volt to 6 Volt Conversion) Fits Ford N-Series Tractors

This ballast resistor is a critical ignition component Fits Ford (Fits Ford/New Holland) N-Series tractors that have been converted from 6 volt to 12 volt electrical systems while retaining the original 6 volt ignition coil. Wired in series between the ignition switch and the coil, it drops voltage to protect the points and coil from burning up. Mounts externally on the firewall or cowl. This is the resistor only -- no mounting block is included.

Important: Fits Ford 8N tractors, this part fits units with a front-mount distributor only (serial numbers up to 263843). The Fits Ford 8N switched from front-mount to side-mount distributor at serial number 263843 in 1950. Verify your distributor configuration before ordering.
